The Cherokee Film Studios, Owasso Campus Expansion represents a significant advancement in the infrastructure dedicated to film and television production in Oklahoma and Indian Country.  The expansion significantly increases the campus’s dedicated production space to nearly 20,000 square feet, making it a pivotal asset for diversifying Oklahoma’s economy and supporting job creation in the region. The expansion includes the addition of a second soundstage, which encompasses 10,000 square feet of space with a 35-foot ceiling, fully soundproofed to cinema standards.

Equipped with a modular truss system and chain hoists, the new soundstage features dedicated facilities such as a hair and makeup room, multipurpose flex space, and restrooms, all designed to accommodate a variety of production needs. The facility also includes 14-foot bay doors for easy load-ins and RV hookups for production trailers.

 

Enhancements to the Owasso film campus further include classroom space for the Cherokee Film Institute, along with a new lobby and waiting area for clients. The construction mill space is equipped with a cyclonic air filtration system, and the facility houses production offices and conference rooms, wardrobe and storage spaces, an audio recording suite, a catering kitchen, and an additional greenroom. This state-of-the-art facility is strategically located within the Cherokee Nation Reservation, just 20 minutes from Tulsa International Airport, providing an ideal environment for production companies.

 

Cherokee Film Studios aims to become a global production hub, focusing on amplifying diverse and underrepresented voices in the film and TV industry.
